The adoption of Assembly Bill 747 established the Administrative Hearings Office (AHO) and transferred responsibility for hearing most water rights enforcement matters from State Water Resources Control Board (State Water Board) Members to the AHO beginning July 1, 2019. The Hearings Unit in the Division of Water Rights was previously responsible for administering these types of hearings under the direction of the State Water Board Members. AHO website.

  • Amador Water Agency Hearing - The Deputy Director for the Division of Water Rights held a non-evidentiary public hearing, as required by Water Code section 10504.1, before determining whether to approve a petition for partial assignment of State Filed Application 5647 and accompanying Application 5647X03 filed by Amador Water Agency.

  • Cachuma Project Hearing
    The State Water Board held Phase II of a hearing regarding the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation water rights Permits (Application 11331 and 11332) to determine whether any modifications in permit terms or conditions are necessary to protect public trust values and downstream water rights on the Santa Ynez River below Bradbury Dam (Cachuma Reservoir) … The purpose of this hearing is to assist the State Water Resources Control Board (State Water Board or Board) in determining whether the Final Environmental Impact Report for the Consideration of Modifications to U.S. Bureau of Reclamation’s (Reclamation) Water Right Permits 11308 and 11310 to Protect Public Trust Values and Downstream Water Rights on the Santa Ynez River below Bradbury Dam (Final EIR) should be entered into the administrative record for Phase 2 of the Cachuma hearing Santa Barbara County.
  • Consolidated Place of Use Petition Hearing - The State Water Board held a hearing to receive evidence relevant to determining whether to the approve California Department of Water Resources (DWR) and United States Bureau of Reclamation's (USBR) petition to consolidate the authorized place of use of the USBR’s permits and license to include the State Water Project (SWP) authorized place of use downstream of the Barker Slough and Harvey Banks Pumping Plants, and the DWR permits to include the Central Valley Project (CVP) and Friant authorized places of use downstream of the confluence of the Sacramento and Feather Rivers.
  • Modification of Order WR 2006-0006 Hearing
    The purpose of this hearing was for the State Water Resources Control Board to receive evidence relevant to determining whether to modify the Cease and Desist Order issued against the Department of Water Resources and the United States Bureau of Reclamation in Part A of State Water Board Order WR 2006-0006

    The State Water Resources Control Board held a hearing to receive evidence relevant to the draft order finding waste, unreasonable method of use, and unreasonable method of diversion of water and ordering corrective actions that was issued against Douglas and Heidi Cole and Marble Mountain Ranch by the Assistant Deputy Director of the Division of Water Rights – Stanshaw Creek in Siskiyou County.
  • El Sur Ranch Hearing
    The State Water Board held a hearing to receive evidence to be considered in determining whether it should conditionally approve Application 30166 submitted by James J. Hill III for El Sur Ranch (Ranch) - Big Sur River in Monterey County.
  • George Speckman Testamentary Trust: CDO Hearing
    The State Water Resources Control Board will hold a hearing to receive evidence relevant to determining whether to adopt, with or without revision, a draft Cease and Desist Order (CDO) against George Speckman Testamentary Trust - Whiskey Slough in San Joaquin County.
