Data Sources

The Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA) requires that a groundwater extraction report be filled with the State Water Resources Control Board (State Water Board) from pumpers who:

  1. Extract groundwater from a probationary basin 90 days or more from the State Water Board designating the basin as probationary, or
  2. Extract groundwater on or after July 1, 2017, from areas not covered by a Groundwater Sustainability Agency (GSA), and where the county itself is not the GSA.

A groundwater extractions reporting system is currently under development. Additional information is coming soon.
